Obama Will Fund ACORN; SCREW Congress

Obama/ACORN are joined at the hip.

Congress could no more tell Obama not to fund ACORN, than the US Consitution could keep him from hijacking America’s banking industry.

Or than the US Constitution could keep him from running for election as president, without producing a valid birth certificate.

OBAMA is going to fund ACORN, come hell or high water. (Even though Obama doesn’t even KNOW that he funds ACORN (he says – unprecedented transparency prevails)).

You might be perplexed; but remember, Obama’s presidency is absolutely unprecedented. I think that could explain it.

One of Barack Obama’s first big “community organizer” jobs involved ACORN in 1992. He has been working along side ACORN since before he became an elected official. Obama also trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court. Obama worked with and protested with ACORN. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN in 2008 for voter registration efforts.
And, ACORN even canvassed for Obama last year.

Earlier this year Obama promoted a top ACORN operative, Patrick Gaspard, who’s oranization was fined $775,000 for election violations, to a top post in the White House. Gespard is helping shape domestic policy.

Obama’s ACORN group was banned from receiving federal funds in September after the group was busted on tape promoting the child sex slave trade.

But, today it was announced that ACORN will be paid with taxpayer funds after all.
The New York Times reported:

The Justice Department has concluded that the Obama administration can lawfully pay the community group Acorn for services provided under contracts signed before Congress banned the government from providing funds to the group.

The department’s conclusion, laid out in a recently disclosed five-page memorandum from David Barron, the acting assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel, adds a new wrinkle to a sharp political debate over the antipoverty group’s activities and recent efforts to distance the government from it.

Since 1994, Acorn, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has received about $53 million in federal aid, much of it grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for providing various services related to affordable housing.

But the group has become a prime target for conservative critics, and on Oct. 1, President Obama signed into law a spending bill that included a provision that said no taxpayer funds — including funds authorized by previous legislation — could be “provided to” the group or its affiliates.

Obviously, considering Obama’s history with ACORN, this latest news surprises no one.

Quentin Young is Obama’s long-time friend and neighbor in Chicago, and a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist since the late 1930s. Obama became a strong proponent of government-run single payer health “insurance” at the tutelage of Marxist Young.

Who is Quentin Young and what is Physicians for a National Health Program? What influence do they actually have?

PNHP claims to be a national organization of 14,000 doctors advocating single-payer national health insurance.

In reality it was long a phonebox size operation run by Quentin Young and a handful of Marxist comrades.

Quentin Young is one of America’s most committed socialists, beginning with his time in the Young Communist League in late 1930s Chicago.

After WW2, into the mid 1970s, Young was closely associated with the Communist Party and was accused of belonging to the Bethune Club (a communist doctor’s club) by a US Congressional Committee investigating the riots at the 1968 Democratic Party convention in Chicago.

In the late 1970s Young was associated with the pro Marx/Gramsci, New American Movement and in 1982 helped found the also Marxist, Democratic Socialists of America-to which he still belongs.

In 1972, in the dying days of the Vietnam War Young led a small radical delegation to Communist North Vietnam.

In 1987 Young and Peter Orris founded the Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), the US’s oldest existing “single payer” advocacy organization and is currently the organization’s National Co-ordinator.

In 1995 Young attended the famous meeting at the Hyde Park home of former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn where Barack Obama was introduced as chosen successor to Illinois State Senator Alice Palmer.

Toxic Health Care Scandal Rocks Nationalized Medicine in UK

Government in the UK again proves itself incapable of delivering efficient, effective health care. The government there provides instead Hellish Care (read below), but at a higher cost than free-market health care to boot. Obama will be no more effective than UK politicians and bureaucrats; in fact, he will be far less effective judging on his disdain for learning from history and experience elsewhere. Obama suffers from a raging fever to install nationalized health care before his popularity tanks completely, without studying adequately the results already obtained elsewhere including Canada, the UK, and Cuba. Ineffective and expensive socialized medicine around the world is inferior to the American free market system. American health care is not broken; it is the socialized medicine “systems” elsewhere which are all broken, fundamentally. Such systems are frought with rationing, delay, bad to catastrophic service, and excessive cost. Obama rushes to break health care in the United States, too, with his me-too socialized medicine that never works. He is enthusiastic to start answering questions like which elderly person should receive health care, and which should instead take a pain pill. Matter of fact, he has started along that tack already.

Dozens of patients died needlessly as a result of filthy conditions in an NHS hospital, a shocking report said last night. Appalling nursing care in Basildon University Hospital contributed to a mortality rate that was more than a third higher than the national average. At least 70 people may have died who should have been saved. It is the latest example of patients paying the ultimate price for Labour’s failure to stamp out Third World conditions in the NHS – despite trebling taxpayer funding over the past decade.

The Essex hospital is run by one of the supposedly ‘elite’ foundation trusts, which have greater freedom to manage their finances. Last night there were angry calls for its entire management team to resign.

Unannounced visits by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission found blood spattered on curtains and chairs in the A&E ward, a catheter bag on the floor, poorly-trained nurses and patients treated on trolleys.

A commode was soiled under the seat, nurses were failing to feed frail elderly people and patients had pressure sores.
There was no paediatric nurse for most of the time so children were not getting the best care.

The mortality rate in the A&E ward was 6.1 per cent in 2008, more than a third higher than the national average of 4.4 per cent.

Sarah Obama, US President Barack Obama’s 87-year-old Kenyan grandmother, has arrived in Mecca to perform the Muslim pilgrimage of hajj, the Saudi daily Okaz reported Wednesday.

Sarah Obama, one of her grandchildren and 10 people from her village in Kenya made the pilgrimage at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, the newspaper reported.

The Saudi monarch invites Muslims from around the world to make the pilgrimage at his expense each year.

NEW YORK (AP) – The safe-haven dollar slid to a 15-month low against the euro, was within striking distance of 14-year lows versus the yen and dipped below parity against the Swiss franc Wednesday as markets absorbed the Federal Reserve’s indication that interest rates will remain at super-low levels for a while and it was not overly concerned by the U.S. currency’s decline.
Against a basket of six currencies including the euro, yen and franc, the dollar fell as low as 74.245, its weakest point since August 2008 and its steepest one-day drop since July 31, said Joseph Trevisani, chief market analyst at FXSolutions.
